The Four Political Parties in the US:
1. The American Conservative Party
The Conservative Party of America believes in Laissez Faire economics, a strict adherence to the principles of the US Constitution, and the dismantling of the centralized power of the federal government. This party wishes to end our global entanglements and halt our imperialistic ambitions. The party is made up mostly of white Protestants who value their individual freedoms. Its members can accurately be described as both liberal and conservative. They want state and local governments to make and enforce all laws; including those dealing with religious freedom, homosexuality, abortion, and drugs. They want to abolish the income tax for everyone. The party represents the beliefs of no less than 35% of the US population, but possibly more than 50% of Americans may vote for an American Conservative candidate.
I have listed nine factions of this American Conservative Party below should you choose to support it.

2. The American Progressive Party
The Progressive Party of America believes in regulating business in order to protect the consumer and the worker. This party represents American blue-collar workers; whom, it believes, are the backbone of society. The party also seeks to protect the poor, the elderly, and the infirm through collective cooperation and an even distribution of wealth. The party believes in democracy, but views imperialism as an extension of corporate greed. The party represents all men and women and seeks to protect everyone. The progressives want to decrease the superfluous laws against homosexuality, drugs, and prostitution. The party can be considered liberal and progressive. It believes religion has no place in government. The party represents the beliefs of no less than 35% of the US population, but possibly more than 50% of Americans may vote for an American Progressive candidate.
I have listed thirteen factions of this American Progressive Party below should you choose to support it.

3. The American Centralist Party
This party is liberal, though neither fully conservative nor fully progressive. The party takes a scientific approach to creating an efficient government and a good society. The party is against large federal law enforcement services, but supports government regulation of business and financial institutions. The party is wholeheartedly against imperialism or globalization, which it believes are unfair to the American worker. The party wishes to legalize and regulate drugs, guns, and prostitution. Centrists do not believe in enforcing victimless crimes. The party has a large representation of around one-third of the US population.
I have listed four factions of this American Centralist Party below should you choose to support it.
Centrist Party - HQ in Big Bear Lake, CA
Modern Whig Party - HQ in Washington, DC
Reform Party of the USA - HQ in Dallas, TX
New American Independent Party - HQ in Wayne, PA
4. The Democratic-Republican Party
This party represents nothing and no one. Its ultimate goal is to perpetuate itself and maintain power. It controls the media and the news through the vast corporate campaign contributions it receives. Because the richest Americans and corporations contribute so much money to the various factions of this party, its elected officials are beholden to the masters of big business. This is the only party in the US that seeks to maintain a global empire. It is the only political party that wants a strong federal police force to attack its citizens. Therefore, it should be considered both conservative and authoritarian. The party allows corporations to go overseas and use cheap labor and steal unprotected resources. As a result, Americans are being attacked here at home by foreign fighters. The party-controlled media lies to us and calls these people "terrorists". Despite the fact that less than 5% of the US population is represented by this party, it manages to control 99% of the federal government. I attribute this to the fact that the first three parties mentioned are excluded from public debates and advertisements by the American media; which is owned by no more than six major corporations. The party hates the American people and thinks we are all stupid. One faction pretends to be conservative so that it can scoop up American Conservative voters. The other faction pretends to be progressive so that it can do the same. The faction that is not in power always wins the American centrist vote in every election. Instead of being grateful to the electorate for voting them into office, Democratic-Republican presidents turn against their people upon attaining power. They become our paternal masters and we must follow their bidding. If not, we will be arrested or killed. The media would not report our deaths accurately.

I appreciate your breakdown of the groups. It seems right on target.
Given where I live regionaly, I do my best to work within the given system, but also have no illusions about that system. There are good people doing the best they can, and variations on self interested motivations along the way.
I choose to believe in the individuals working towards a better good, so volunteer at local levels. Since that's where it all starts, that's where I reside. I have discovered in that capacity that people who participate in the process feel better about that process, taking ownership of the outcomes.
Life isn't as simple as corporate corruption vs the little guy. It is as simple as "each one sees what he carries in his heart" and the cure for that can't be resolved within any political system.
Wow! You paint a troubling picture. But I can't say I see anything here I disagree with. I think it's time you run for office. Make sure you have good bodyguards. :D
Interesting, well researched read! Nice to know there are at least a few other options out there, though I still see my beliefs too far left and/or right to fit into any of them.
I'm a gun loving, pro-choice, atheist who supports gay rights, tax breaks for all (including the rich), and refuses to stop referring to them as "illegal aliens".
Agreed. In terms of my personal atheism, it's exactly that, a personal choice. I have absolutely no problem with nor harbor any ill-will towards people of faith.
It's one of the beautiful things about our nation, separation of church and state. Everyone has the right to choose their faith (or lack there of) and practice it accordingly. If I understand the founders intention correctly, the only involvement the government has is to simply protect that right.
And you are very intuitive, you've pretty well pegged me, lol. I value personal freedom over all else, so long as one person's freedom or choices do not interfere with another's.
Forgive my ignorance for not knowing which, but didn't one of our Founding Fathers basically say something to the affect of, "In a perfect world, people would regulate their own behavior, and there would be no need for a government." Unfortunately, this is an imperfect world, and without a government, you get chaos; So they set about creating the smallest, least intrusive government possible that could still effectively foster (not create) economic success, national defense, and the protection of individual liberties.
Those are good points. Haven't thought about it like that. I always thought it was mostly 2 parties and a bunch of others that you dont hear of much or about. I had a teacher give a website that had hundreds of parties.
This hub calls to mind an article from Atlantic about 20 years ago suggesting that there are four political groups based around socially conservative, socially liberal, economically conservative, economically liberal. I think that was too limiting but it was a liberal magazine trying to comprehend American politics. I do think you have a handle on things, at least as much as one can.
Where would you place the TEA party movement or the Texas succession people?

Sounds like we're boned, and that most voters agree on most issues, but don't understand how similar they are (they've been divided and conquered). As I look over the newest additions to your hubs, I see the "A strong conservative voice for Texas: David Porter (Republican)" banner on each page refresh.
We've become too big for ourselves. The larger we become and the more diverse we become, the easier we are to separate into smaller and smaller factions. The last time this process got to this point, we started colonizing the New World. We seem to be destined to destroy ourselves if we aren't able to colonize space pretty soon.
The cold truth is that human's need masters. Someone will always rise to the top and control the rest of us. The most lasting form of government in the world was the monarchy. We like to have someone to blame (and/or kill) for all the bad things that happen. I've been wondering recently why someone hasn't picked up an M24 and started picking off CEOs. There are plenty of gun nuts out there that are plenty angry. Truth is, maybe someone has, and it hasn't been reported.
